Derma Roller is an equipment that has a handle and a roller which is studded with very fine needles. These needles measure from 0.5 mm to 2.5 mm. The Derma Roller is rolled with a nominal pressure around the affected pressure. During this process the needles create tiny punctures in the skin of different depths amounting to the length of the needle. This is done until tiny bleeding punctures are seen at the surface. These needles puncture numerous blood vessels that leak a very less amount of blood into the Dermis. The platelets in this blood are composed of Growth factors and help stimulate Collagen and Elastin synthesis.
The physical damage caused by puncturing the Epidermis and Dermis trigger an inflammatory tissue reaction to restore the damage. This causes the Dermal Fibroblasts to initiate and generate new Collagen and Elastic fibres which firm the skin and reduce wrinkles and scars.
Derma Roller activates epidermal healing by initiating an increased amount of Epidermal Keratinocytes that gives a smoother and fresher look to the skin. It also decreases the amount of pigment in the skin which gives the skin an enhanced complexion. This procedure is effective on all skin types and we recommend a session after 30 days for best results.
